Hello !
Todays’ post is a review on a Bourjois nail polish set, the '5 x Colour Pop' mini nail polishes. I got these as a Christmas present this year from my auntie and uncle. They live in Portugal and my auntie always picks up my presents on the plane when they come back to visit for special occasions.
The nail polishes came in an adorable little pink cardboard box, with 5 great shades which are sure to cover any mood you're in or any occasion you're going to.
There are 3 'vacances' polishes (bright, summery colours which fit their name as they would be great to bring on holidays) and 2 'soirée' polishes (a dark one and a light one for evening time, great for a more subtle look). I have looked online and there seems to be lots of different colours in the collection, and there are polishes including the 'club', 'breakfast' and 'sunset' ones. I also saw another set from the same line with blue packaging instead of pink, so it seems there is quite a bit of variety when it comes to these little guys.
Another good thing about them is the applicator - which is a big thing for me as I need a good brush, and I've found it in these. The brush is quite small, and I enjoy that, as I can get a precise finish when I’m applying nail polish. Thankfully, they have another thing working in their favour – lasting power. It’s by far the best in my collection, lasting up to 5 days having sealed the 2/3 coats with a clear top coat.
Now, I'm not sure if these are part of the permanent line, or if you can get them from a regular Bourjois booth in the pharmacy. Either way, I would 100% recommend you check these out if you get the chance. They are great shades to have in your collection, and I have been really enjoying them since I got them. At the beginning I was wearing the subtle 'soirée' shades, but now that it's Spring time I've been trying out the 'vacances' ones, and I know they'll be great for Summer.
Numbers 67 and 72 are very sheer, and to make them opaque, I had to apply a thin layer of white nail polish (I just used a cheap Essence one). I definitely didn’t have this problem with numbers 63 and 70, and I think 61 could be worn either with or without the white layer underneath as it’s a lovely colour even lightly swept onto the nail. These all work best with a clear top coat (I always use a cheap Catrice one)
Unfortunately, I'm not sure exactly how much the set was, as I received mine as a present. Also, they’re obviously a bit on the small side, and I don’t see them lasting very long. But, they are mini’s, so these things are to be accepted, and it’s a good way to try them out before buying a full sized polish in the wrong colour.
Overall, I give this set of polishes a solid 3.5/5, despite the slight problem I had with getting the green and orange colours to be as opaque as I wanted. The colours themselves totally make up for it, and I thoroughly enjoy these Bourjois polishes.
I hope you've enjoyed this weeks post, let me know if you have these or if you have been able to find them in the shops.
Talk soon.

''Let's start at the very beginning''....
...And what a very good place to start it is. Hello there, my name is Leona Melling and I've started this blog as a challenge or goal for myslef, it's something completely new to me so I'm excited !

Just to give you a little insight as to what to expect from me, I really just want to share my experiences with you, whoever 'you' are. Whether it's a brief product review, something that's happening in my life or an opinion or thought of mine that I want to share, expect light-hearted material that will hopefully give you some advice or just make you smile :)
Along the way you'll most likely learn a lot about me, but just as an intorduction; I'm 18 and I'm a student from Dublin. I've been dancing since I was about 4, and I've done everything from Irish dancing to cheerleading ! - I love dancing. My major obsessions are beauty and fashion. I could spend hours watching beauty videos and YouTube or exploring the make up isle in Boots !
In my spare time I also like to go to the cinema (I really enjoy watching movies, old and new), listen to music (whatever takes my fancy) and walk my dog (a brown and white border collie with bundles of energy - she definately keeps me fit).
So that's me n a nutshell, and that's it for today's post. Feel free to follow me if you're a beauty or fahion lover too. Stay tuned for weekly posts with a few bonus ones thrown in aswell ;)
